The NE Junior and Youth Golden Gloves is the premier boxing tournament for young fighters across New England’s six states. This year’s event, held on Sunday, June 15, in Springfield, Massachusetts, brought together some of the region’s best young talents. One standout was Landon Truell of the Springfield Boxing Club in Vermont, last year’s champion. Moving up to a higher weight class (165lb) this time, Landon earned a well-deserved second place after a hard-fought match against an opponent from Connecticut. Remarkably, Landon Truell was the only boxer representing the entire state of Vermont, as well as the sole competitor from the city of Springfield. His performance continues to inspire pride in his hometown and especially at his home gym, the Springfield Boxing Club, which proudly celebrates his dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n

On January 25, 2025, two of our boxers had a match at the NNE Golden Gloves in Sanford, ME. Ben Gray in the 176lbs category had an evenly contested bout, ultimately losing the bout by split decision. Landon Truell had a special bout in the Junior Olmypics category and won all three rounds by unanimous decision. Congratulations and we are proud of our boxers!<\/p>\n

On June 15, 2024 the Real Steel Boxing Club of Claremont NH held a tournament in which our own Landon Truell (145lbs) participated. We are very happy that the hard work in our gym paid off and Landon won his bout. Our coach Corey can be very proud of his son!<\/p>\n

On \u00a0May 17 – 19, 2024 was held the Sixth Annual Rude Dog Masters International Championships in Brooklyn, CT. To compete you must be 35 years or older. We sent out our boxing coach Joshua Plausteiner, who won the title in the 203+ pound weight class. Three young boxers participated in the New England Junior Olympics tournament hosted by Central City Boxing and Barbell in Springfield Massachusetts.<\/p>\n Landon Truell won the 145 lb. This is a tournament that allows boxers over 35 years of age to compete. Springfield Boxing Club sent their boxer, Joshua Plausteiner, who won the title in the 203 pounds weight category.<\/p>\n Not only Joshua, but also his two sons Zeb and Angelo, are members of the Springfield Boxing Club, and they have also achieved success in sports competitions. Benjamin, a law school student led an even match that ended by a split decision in favor of his opponent. The biggest surprise of the evening, however, was the match between our Angelo Plausteiner and Hunter Johnson from Maine. Angelo put on an outstanding performance, using his intelligence and speed to take a well deserved victory over his opponent who weighed 80 pounds more!!! A pearl for the end: Angelo who did so well that he was named the best boxer of the entire tournament! This is an absolutely unique case of a boxer making history on his debut as the best boxer of the tournament. He received a special plaque to commemorate this performance. This plaque for the best boxer of the tournament is an award for the whole Springfield Boxing Club, which has received such an honour for the fifth time!
